The Cliché Monster       Mike Jubb

As big as a house,
As quiet as a mouse;
As tough as old boots,
As bald as a coot;
As sly as a fox,
As strong as an ox;
As deaf as a post,
As warm as toast;
As high as a kite,
As dark as night;
As slimy as a snake,
As thin as a rake;
As clear as a bell,

LIKE A BAT OUT OF HELL!

Note:

An example of how a good title can give meaning (of sorts) which didn't exist when I started to write it.

I built up a data base of cliché similes, pulled out some that rhyme, knocked it into shape... and lastly, came up with the title.
