Ofsted asserts that teachers tend to choose from relatively few poems to 'do'. When you're busy, it's understandable to stay with the familiar... and a child raised without knowing, for example, Jabberwocky or The Highwayman has clearly been neglected!
But there are many other great poems on offer, so please be adventurous and explore the unfamiliar. You wouldn't want me to have done all this work for nothing, would you?
